New Inspiration

One of my dreams was to one day meet David Ellsworth. To do that, have our own demonstration,be shown his gallery and to sit in a Sam Maloof rocking chair, all in one day was beyond my wildest dreams.

Back into the work shop armed with ideas from Tampa. I’m interested in Mark Sfirri’s offset turning and the therming technique of Art Liestman to create a shape I can carve on. I turned a round tear drop shape them offset the piece but not parallel. The tailstock was 20 degrees out of parallel so I can have a subtle twist on the piece. Turning the shape on two centres I arrived at a shape I required. The final shaping can be achieved using a mini carver. Fireform embellishment to be carved.
